After the water enters the dense bus duct, the protection level needs to be checked. If the protection level is high,a small amount of water will not cause much damage to it.If the protection level is low,the water must be cleaned before use, otherwise a short circuit may occur. The protection level is IP,such as IP65.The larger the number, the higher its dust and water resistance.Dense bus ducts are generally designed for indoor use,and the humidity in the air does not affect the operation of the bus ducts. However,if water enters the bus ducts during use,it will inevitably cause insulation reduction, and long-term operation will cause short circuits and burn out the bus ducts.
High protection level does not require special treatment, just dry the water and check if there are any foreign objects in the tank.It needs to be cleaned thoroughly to avoid power leakage and short circuit situations. If the protection level is low,go directly to the manufacturer and test the resistance between each section of the busbar and the phase to shell. If any section is not within the specified range,it must be replaced completely because it is difficult to dry.The replacement price is estimated to be around 30%-40%of your original busbar slot price. Therefore, necessary protective measures should be taken for installation methods that may cause water ingress into the bus duct.
When the bus duct passes through a floor, due to various reasons such as production or roof leakage, water accumulates on the floor, which will leak down along the bus duct passing through the floor, causing water to enter the bus duct and reducing its insulation.Due to the magnetic effect, cables placed on trays not only have reduced capacity and current carrying capacity, but also the different equal distribution of degradation can cause an imbalance of nearly 20%in the current between parallel conductors, which may also result in short circuits in the tray supporting the cables.Bus duct suppliers use simulation programs to determine the optimal configuration of cable bus phase conductors. The cable bus uses support blocks to store cable cooling and short-circuit support.
The rated capacity of the busbar trunking should be selected based on temperature rise to achieve safe operation, sufficient service life, and reliable operation. The cross-sectional area of the wire should not be used as a criterion for judging the busbar trunking. The busbar trunking seems to have sufficient cross-sectional area, but there may still be a risk of high temperature rise. The maximum allowable temperature rise is set at 55℃.Of course, using a larger cross-section can reduce some voltage drop and temperature rise. The prominent limiting factor in the working life of well-designed bus ducts is the gradual thermal aging of their insulation. For every 10℃increase in working temperature, the lifespan of insulation materials is reduced by about half.
