Installation, maintenance and upkeep of bus ducts

  1、Maintenance of bus duct

  1.Before the maintenance of the bus duct,a power outage inspection of the bus duct system is required;Completely cut off all power supply to the bus duct;Measure the voltage of the conductor with a multimeter and confirm that the busbar trunking system is not energized before routine maintenance can be carried out to prevent serious accidents caused by high voltage that may cause physical injury or even death to operators.During the operation of the bus duct,it is necessary to continuously check whether there are leaks,water sprays,potential moisture sources,heavy objects that pose a threat to the system,and heat sources that affect the temperature rise of the bus duct system around the entire system.Check for foreign objects entering the interior of the bus duct.Check for any defects or rust in the components of the bus duct system,and whether the bracket springs have appropriate elasticity.If any problems are found,replace them immediately.

  During long-term operation,the bus duct should be regularly inspected at least once a year.Check that the total load current does not exceed the design current and the rated current of the main busbar slot.During long-term operation of the bus duct,the joint temperature rise should be checked regularly once a year.The joint temperature rise should not exceed 70℃according to GB7251 standard to be qualified.Check all connection bolts and conductive contact parts of the bus duct joints for looseness.Prevent the increase in resistance caused by looseness from causing heating of the joints.Check for aging of the insulation material and melting deformation of the conductive parts.If indirect insulation breakdown is found,it should be dismantled in sections and checked with a voltage tester to identify the fault.Alternatively,the bus duct should be replaced or insulated again.Check whether the plug box pins of the bus duct system are in good contact with the busbar.

  3.Regularly clean the surface dust of the busbar trunking system to ensure good heat dissipation

  2、Inspection items before installation of bus duct:

  Check if the bus duct casing is complete and undamaged,inspect if the bolts on the bus duct casing are loose,and ensure that the bolt connections are reliable;Check if the bus duct socket is closed and locked;Measure the insulation resistance with a 500V megohmmeter,and the resistance value should not be less than 20MΩper section

  3、Installation of bus duct:

  Firstly,based on the final design direction of the bus duct,it is necessary to confirm whether there are any obstacles or changes to the reserved positions along its direction;

  2.Make and install brackets for the installation site of the bus duct;

  3.Conduct insulation testing before installation;

  4.Hoisting bus ducts and inter segment connections;

  5.Correct,adjust,and inspect the installation in the early stage;

  6.Connect the bus duct to the distribution equipment;

  7.Install plug-in boxes and other devices to conduct electrical testing on the busbar trunking system.

  Forked busbar:When the branch current is greater than or equal to 250A,the branched busbar is connected to the plug-in switch box to ensure the effectiveness of surface contact and safety.
